PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely detect oxidation degradation of a biotechnology fuel in a fuel degradation detection device of an internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: The fuel degradation detection device of an internal combustion engine comprises an internal combustion engine 10 to be operated with a biotechnology fuel, a moisture concentration sensor 22 for sensing the moisture concentration in the biotechnology fuel, and a fuel degradation judging means for judging the oxidation degradation degree of the biotechnology fuel based on the moisture concentration sensed by the moisture concentration sensor 22. The fuel degradation judging means judges that the biotechnology fuel has degraded by oxidation in the case the sensed moisture concentration is larger than a predetermined judgment value.
