PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic adaptation device capable of finding an adaptation value of an optimal parameter. SOLUTION: This automatic adaptation device is equipped with an initial value setting means, an adaptation target value determining means, a parameter adaptation means, and an evaluating means. The evaluating means calculates a margin value indicating how much of a measured value of an output value is decreased with respect to an adaptation target value of the output value for each of a plurality of first output values, and calculates a deterioration value indicating how much of a measured value of an output value is increased with respect to the adaptation target value of the output value for each of a plurality of second output values. The parameter adaptation means performs operation of a plurality of parameters based on a total of the margin values and the total of the deterioration values. In this way, even in the case where the evaluation value total is temporarily increased, but if a search is further continued, an evaluation value total lower than any evaluation value total obtained before can be obtained, an adaptation value of a parameter which is the low evaluation value total can be automatically obtained.
