PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently producing hyaluronic acid by accumulating the hyaluronic acid to be high concentration in a culture solution. SOLUTION: The production method of hyaluronic acid includes cultivating a microorganism having hyaluronic acid-production ability in the presence of living yeast. The microorganism having hyaluronic acid-production ability is a microorganism belonging to the genus Streptococcus, especially Streptococcus zooepidemicus or its variant, and the living yeast is preferably Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
