The vehicle (1) has steering, drive and auxiliary axles to which load sensors are assigned. Signals from the sensors are transmitted to a control device to determine a variable describing loading of left and right front wheels (10,11) and a drive wheel (12) of the axles. A load relationship between wheel loads of the wheels of the axles (3, 4) is specified as a controlling or regulating variable. The device adjusts the relationship by controlling pneumatic suspension bellows (7), where the variable corresponds to actual vehicle conditions or situations.
