A method for providing a multimedia stream by using a VDG(Video Distribution Group), a system for providing a multimedia stream by using the same, and a method thereof are provided to prevent quality of a multimedia stream from being lowered in a receiving apparatus. A multimedia stream supplying unit formats QoS(Quality of Service) information of a multimedia stream in a VDG message(S800). The first multimedia stream arbitration unit integrates collected VDG messages to VDGSET. Th formatted VDGSET message is forwarded to all multimedia stream processing units through the second multimedia stream arbitration unit)(S805). The respective multimedia stream processing units set an allowable maximum throughput value corresponding to VDGSET information(S810). The multimedia stream processing unit selects an attendable VDG by referring to a system requirement according to QoS information.
