A toner composition, and a method for preparing the toner composition are provided to reduce the surface contamination of a developing roller, thereby decreasing the charge variation of a toner and improving transfer efficiency. A toner composition comprises a toner mother particle which comprises a binder comprising styrene-acrylate and polyester, a styrene-acrylate-based charge control agent, a pigment, and optionally at least one selected from a dispersant and a releasing agent, and is annealed; and an external additive which comprises an organic microparticle, silica and an inorganic microparticle and is coated on the surface of a toner mother particle.
