<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting system in which, in order to reduce a production cost and save a power consumption, a structure is made simple and light utilization ratio is improved. <P>SOLUTION: The lighting system 60 using light emitting diodes 20 is provided with a plurality of light emitting diodes 20 and at least one reflecting unit 61 and a light emitting surface 62 providing a beam 81 in a flat surface. Each of the light emitting diodes 20 is provided with a transparent sealing body of which the external shape shows a flat shape, and since a wide surface of the transparent sealing body shows a semi-spherical shape and a narrow surface shows an oval shape, a rectangular shape, a paraboloid shape or a trigeminal shape, the irradiated beam shows a flat oval shape dispersion.
