PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure of a fuel line for an engine test bench capable of detecting an abnormal flow rate in a fuel feed line, capable of preventing a fuel feed pump from burning and sticking, and capable of preventing fuel from leaking out after the finish of a test, and a method for operating the engine test bench. SOLUTION: In a fuel feed system (Lc), a detection means (flow rate switch 5) for detecting that a fuel flow rate becomes lower than a predetermined value is provided, and a control means (10) is so configured as to stop an engine (1) when a signal by the detection means representing that the fuel flow rate becomes lower than the predetermined value is received.
