PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a weight selector which is capable of properly detecting the direction of articles to be conveyed by a conveying means and of detecting defective articles. SOLUTION: The weight selector 100 is provided with a plurality of conveying means 3A-3D which are arranged in parallel to the conveying direction of an article P and conveys the article P, a plurality of sensors 4A-4D which are arranged in correspondence to each of the conveying means 3A-3D and sense the data relating to the weight of the article P and a controller 101. The controller 101 acquires the output data of the sensors 4A-4D, acquires the total value obtained by totaling these output data as the weight of the article P, and detects the anomaly of the direction of the article P and the unbalanced load status of the article P from the output data between the sensors 4A-4D in the case where the article P is loaded on a plurality of the conveying means 3A-3D so that it straddles over a plurality of conveying means 3A-3D.
