PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the matter that the exchange of a head takes time and manufacturing cost of an exchanging head increases, and that the manufacturing cost of a head increases when the head is not exchanged but a head with a spare nozzle is used. SOLUTION: The liquid jet head comprises a first head having a nozzle array in the direction perpendicular to the conveyance direction of a medium, at least one second head having a nozzle array shorter than the nozzle array, a section for moving the second head in the direction perpendicular to the conveyance direction of a medium, and a retaining section for holding an angle which is made when a line in the conveyance direction of a medium intersects a line in the nozzle array direction of the second head.
