SCREENING METHOD UTILIZING C-MET WHICH IS NOVEL SUBSTRATE FOR G-SECRETASE

Disclosed is a method for the screening of a compound capable of affecting the processing of c-Met by ?-secretase, which comprises the steps of: (i) contacting a first biological composition comprising ?-secretase or a biologically active fragment thereof with a second biological composition comprising c-Met each in the presence and in the absence of each of candidate compounds; (ii) measuring the cleavage of c-Met each in the presence and in the absence of each of the candidate compounds; (iii) selecting a candidate compound that affects the cleavage of c-Met by ?-secretase from the candidate compounds; and (iv) determining the candidate compound selected in the step (iii) as being a compound that can affect the processing of c-Met by ?-secretase.
