A method of receiving service guide information and an apparatus for receiving the service guide information are provided to access a desired server through an interactive channel after obtaining information with regard to capability of the server. A logical ESG collector of a service management apparatus collects specific service guide information. The collected information is registered in a physical ESG collector of a network. The physical ESG collector registers the specific service guide information in a bootstrap ESG collector. The bootstrap information including the service guide information is transmitted to a terminal through a broadcast network. The logical ESG collector of the service management apparatus transmits the service guide information data to the physical ESG collector of the network. The service guide information data is consecutively transmitted to a terminal through the network. The terminal receives the bootstrap information from the bootstrap ESG collector of the service management apparatus.
