A system for managing multiple failures in a communications network and a sharing link terminating apparatus for the same are provided to detect multiple failures without increasing the number of relays passing through a monitoring frame. A sharing link terminating apparatus is positioned in the termination of the sharing link. The sharing link terminating equipment transmits the secondary monitoring frame. The monitor unit exists in a second ring. A communications unit(130) receives a detection frame transmitted from an apparatus on the ring when link failure exists. A memory stores link failure information included in the failures detection frame.
