A stand-by screen management method of a mobile terminal capable of clearly managing a schedule by a category is provided to search a stored schedule by a contents, a category, and a schedule and to search desired schedule immediately. A stand-by screen is selected through user input on a mobile terminal(S100). A post-it mode is selected(S110). The post-it window contents is input and stored(S120). A category edit mode capable of deleting a category through a predetermined menu selection is advanced(S125). A kind of the registered categories is added, modified, or deleted(S126). It confirms whether to need the addition/correction/deletion about category(S127). The category of the inputted post-it window content is selected and stored(S130).
