PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the attractiveness of games by making players positively take part in the games while being made to feel expectations for being just under the control to a special game state. SOLUTION: A CPU 101 for performance control carries out a shift to a potential variable probability state for concealing the shift to the variable probability state at a prescribed rate even when the shift to the variable probability state is actually made. Display modes of backgrounds and performance mode based on variation patterns are made identical both for the time shortening status and the potential variable probability state. When the shift is made to the time shortening status or the potential variable probability state, informative performances are executed at different selection rates according to whether the game is in the variable probability state or not.
