PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide polishing material for blasting and blasting method, which makes a surface into a glossed surface, polishes and makes the surface into a mirror surface without making the surface into a satin-finished surface, and removes surface ruggedness. SOLUTION: In this blasting method, the polishing material formed into a planar shape having a plane, having the maximum dimension (plate diameter) in the plane shape in the range of 0.05-10 mm and also having the plate diameter of 1.5 to 100 times as many as thickness, is injected by inclining an incident angle to the surface of a workpiece. In this case, the injected planar polishing material slides on the surface of the workpiece, while bringing the plane into sliding contact with the surface of workpiece. As a result, the surface of the workpiece is flattened by removing only crest parts without increasing depths of trough parts in a rough curve. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
