RICE BRAN-LIKE COMPOSITION AND FOOD

It is intended to provide a rice bran-like composition having a higher bioactivity by modifying rice bran. The rice bran-like composition obtained by mixing (1) defatted rice bran obtained by subjecting rice bran to an oil-pressing treatment and (2) rice bran oil obtained by subjecting pressed rice bran oil to a purification treatment such that the weight ratio of the content of defatted rice bran to the content of rice bran oil becomes 85:15 to 60:40; and a food containing (1) defatted rice bran and (2) rice bran oil at a weight ratio of 85:15 to 60:40. Preferred components of the rice bran-like composition are as follows: the content of fat is from 20 to 40% by weight; the content of protein is from 10 to 17% by weight; the content of carbohydrate is from 5 to 21% by weight; the content of ash is from 7 to 13% by weight; and the content of fiber is from 20 to 32% by weight. According to the invention, more excellent action of suppressing or reducing an increase in visceral fat, action of suppressing or reducing an increase in blood neutral fat and an action of suppressing or reducing an increase in blood cholesterol are obtained compared with rice bran.
