The invention relates to an internal combustion engine (10) comprising an inlet circuit (16) which supplies the combustion engine (10) with fresh gases, an exhaust gas circuit (18) for exhausting the burnt gases from the combustion engine (10), and an exhaust gas recirculation circuit (44) of which an upstream inlet pipe (46) is connected to the exhaust circuit (18) exhausting the gases from the engine (10) and a downstream outlet pipe (54) is connected to the inlet circuit (16) letting fresh gases into the engine (10), characterized in that the recirculation pipe (44) comprises a positive-displacement pump (52) to encourage the recirculation of gases from the downstream end upstream in the exhaust gas recirculation circuit (44). |
