MULTILAYER OPTICAL DISK AND OPTICAL DISK APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure stability against the layer-to-layer distance differences in each multilayer optical disk and against layer-to-layer distance fluctuations caused by problems in the fabrication of the disks.

SOLUTION: A multilayer optical disk preliminarily stores layer-to-layer distance information in a control track. The layer-to-layer distance information from the control track is read and a setting value adapted to the layer-to-layer distance information is set in a prescribed circuit.
