<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device wherein a transmission axis of an emission side polarizing plate can be set in a direction oblique to an outer circumferential side of a display screen without reducing transmittance and mismatch with a polarization sunglass is not generated even though luminous display is thereby made attainable. <P>SOLUTION: In the display device 1a which is provided with: a liquid crystal panel 17 having a liquid crystal layer interposed between a driving substrate 3 and a counter substrate; and a polarizing plate 23 provided on a take-out side of display light in the liquid crystal panel 17 and where a common electrode and a pixel electrode 9 are disposed in an insulating state on the liquid crystal layer side of the driving substrate 3, the transmission axis of the polarizing plate 23 is disposed so as to be oblique to the outer circumferential side of the display screen. Two long sides which constitute a generally rectangular outside shape of the pixel electrode 9 are made to be nearly parallel (or nearly vertical) to the transmission axis of the polarizing plate 23 and the pixel electrode 9 has a plurality of electrode parts 9a extended to be parallel to the long sides in the outside shape. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
