PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a practical heat energy generator that allows easy control of a fusion reaction of deuterium and facilitates the recycle of deuterium gas. SOLUTION: This heat energy generator 1 comprises a means for putting space 4 inside a Pd container 2 and space 5 between the Pd container 2 and a stainless steel container 3 into a high vacuum state, a means for supplying the deuterium gas to the space 5, a means for controlling the temperature of the deuterium gas in the space 5 so that the deuterium gas supplied to the space 5 transmits through a wall of the Pd container from the space 5 toward the space 4, and a means for exhausting the deuterium gas in the space 5 to the outside of the heat energy generation device 1 to make the deuterium gas reserving inside the space 4 transmit through the wall of the Pd container 2 from the space 4 toward the space 5 and hence allowing the deuterium gas reserving inside the space 4 to be exhausted to the outside of the heat energy generation device 1.
