PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove foreign matters stuck in a press die during machining. SOLUTION: The press die comprises a lower die arranged opposite to a lifting upper die, a holding plate 4 supported at the lower position of the upper die via an elastic member 8 and sandwiching a work 20 with the lower die, and a die 3 supported with the upper die and moving relatively to a side surface of the holding plate 4, keeping a setting distance thereto, wherein a projecting felt member 5 is provided on the side surface of the holding plate 4, and the projection amount of the felt member 5 projecting from the side surface of the holding plate 4 to the projecting tip end is formed larger than the setting distance. This constitution allows the felt member 5 to slide on the side surfaces of the die 3, so that the foreign matters stuck on the inside of the die 3 are removed at each molding cycle.
