PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wastewater treatment method which enables the efficient separation and removal of precipitated deposits with very high filterability in treating wastewater containing heavy metals etc, such as selenium and the like, by adding a ferrous compound. SOLUTION: A ferrous compound, such as ferrous sulfate, and a chlorine bypass dust obtained by extraction of gas between a kiln for burning cement and a preheater connected to the kiln to calcinate a cement raw material are added to wastewater containing heavy metal, and precipitated deposits are separated by filtration, thereby removing heavy metals in the wastewater containing heavy metal.
