PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To positively prevent the occurrence of skipping stitches, breakage or hangnail of a needle thread loop by preventing the separation of a sewing needle and a hook. SOLUTION: This sewing machine has a sewing needle 12 that forms a needle thread loop 13a by a sewing thread 13, a shuttle 3 having a hook 3c that catches the needle thread loop 13a by a rotation motion and a driver 5 that reciprocably rotates the shuttle 3 by a rotation motion. The driver 5 is provided with a needle-rear receiving part 5e that supports the back surface opposing the hook 3c of the sewing needle 12 and a needle-front receiving part 5f that supports the front surface of the sewing needle 12.
