PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an indoor unit of an air conditioner in which a suction grille and a dust removing unit are integrally elevated by an elevating mechanism, surely engaging the dust removing unit with a moving mechanism at a fixed position in returning the lowered suction griller to a position covering a suction port. SOLUTION: The suction grille 29 is provided with a position holding mechanism 71 for holding the dust removing unit 42 in a fixed holding position when being elevated by the elevating mechanism 45 and also guiding the dust removing unit 42 to the holding position in fitting the dust removing unit 42 detached from the holding position.
