A stent assembly comprising an expensible tubular supporting element (10) and at least one coat (14/16) of electrospun polymer fibers, each of the at least one coat (14/16) having a predetermined porosity, the at least one coat including at least one pharmaceutical agent incorporated therein for delivery of the at least one pharmaceutical agent into a body vasculature during or after implantation of the stent assembly within the body vasculature.
