A can type lithium secondary battery is provided to prevent the rotation of a gasket by placing closely a gasket and cap-plate through accommodating protrusions in grooves contained in a gasket. A can type lithium secondary battery(100) comprises an electrode assembly, a can(110), and a cap assembly(120). The electrode assembly comprises the first electrode board, the second electrode board and a separator. The can accommodates the electrode assembly and electrolyte. The cap assembly comprises a cap-plate(150), an electrode terminal(130) and a gasket(140) and is combined in the top opening of can. The cap plate comprises the protrusions(156) formed in order to be protruded at the upper side of the cap plate in the contact area with the gasket. |
