<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contact detection method, a contact detector, and an operation device or a video game device equipped with the contact detector for using contact between players as an operating means in a video game. <P>SOLUTION: In the contact detection method, a first electrode 11e and a second electrode 12e conducted at prescribed potentials respectively and a detecting means for detecting that the first electrode and the second electrode are in a state conductive to each other are provided. The first electrode is provided for a grip part of a first controller 11 and the second electrode is provided for a grip part of a second controller 12. When either a first player who is in contact with the first electrode by gripping the first controller or a second player who is in contact with the second electrode by gripping the second controller is in contact with the other, the contact is detected on the ground that the state between the first electrode and the second electrode is made to be conductive. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
