PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a division result which is highly valid as a whole text.

SOLUTION: This text division program for making a computer execute a text division method for dividing a typical text having specific typicality in the structure of a text includes: dividing a typical text as the object of division on the basis of small clause definition stored in a storage part under such circumstances that small clause definition where positions suitable for dividing the typical text are expressed by using the attribute information of the text by a user in its relation with the structure is preliminarily stored in the storage part; generating a small clause string where small clauses that serve as independent texts after the division are arranged; collating the generated small clause string with a structure pattern stored in the storage part under such circumstances that the structure pattern where a structure suitable for the typical text is expressed as the combination of every small clause definition by the user is preliminarily stored in the storage part; and selecting the structure pattern determined to match the small clause string as the division result of the typical text.
