PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluorescent organic light emitting element of high light emitting efficiency. SOLUTION: The organic light emitting element includes an anode, a cathode and a layer composed of an organic compound held between the anode and the cathode. The layer composed of the organic compound includes a first light emitting area composed of a first material and a second light emitting area composed of the first material and a second material. The energy gap of the second material is larger than the energy gap of the first material, and the lowest triplet excitation energy of the second material is smaller than the lowest triplet excitation energy of the first material.
