PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To respond to the problem that some means for transmitting that set time passes and input functions are switched is desired if possible since there has been no communication device that notifies that input is switched though the input functions are switched when a small number of keys are depressed long and long depression set time passes in the communication device having a small number of keys around 14 pieces including a character input key and having a mechanism that the input functions are different between short depression and the long depression of the small number of keys in character input setting. SOLUTION: When the small number of keys are depressed long and the long depression set time passes in character input, it is visually intelligible and exactly transmitted to a user that the input functions are switched by installing a means in which conspicuous "color display" appears at an input part of a display part in the communication device. Therefore, timing for releasing the keys is made smooth. Thus, input operations such as character input, etc. are smoothly performed, which leads to shortening of operation time such as e-mail creation and a product satisfying a user with pleasure is provided.
