PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk playback device and a disk playback method which facilitate pull-in after layer jumping in an unrecorded disk. SOLUTION: The disk playback device is provided with: a light irradiating part for emitting light having a focus on an optical disk including a plurality of recording layers and tracks disposed among these recording layers and wobbled; a focus error detector for outputting a focus error signal corresponding to positional deviation between the recording layers and the focus based on a reflected light from the optical disk; a wobbling detector for outputting a wobbling amplitude signal corresponding to the wobbling based on the reflected light from the optical disk; a holding circuit for holding the focus error signal based on the wobbling amplitude signal; and a focus position correction circuit for correcting the position of the focus based on the held focus error signal.
