PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power source apparatus for arc welding, which apparatus can reduce the generation of deviated magnetization while achieving high weldability. SOLUTION: The electric power source apparatus 1 for arc welding obtains DC power by rectifying the AC power from an external commercial AC power source 3 by means of a rectifier 4, and then converts the output of the DC power source into AC power by operating an inverter circuit 5 by the control signal S from an inverter control section 14, and then changes the AC power into the voltage suitable for arc welding by a transformer 6, and then changes the output from the transformer 6 into DC power again by means of a rectifier 7. The inverter control section 14 is provided with a control gain changing section 17 for changing a control gain based on information Z about welding impedance to be obtained by dividing detected information Va about welding voltage by detected information Ia about welding current. As a result, the generation of the deviated magnetization can be reduced by making the control gain high in an arc loaded state and by making the control gain low in a short circuit loaded state while achieving high weldability in the respective states.
