PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent soil or sand from being deposited onto a gas introduction port and a gas drawing-out port, when mounting a gas meter on a ground face, in the gas meter provided with the gas introduction port and the gas drawing-out port on a lower end face of a meter main body. SOLUTION: A cylindrical part 31 is pressed in to allow insertion and extraction on an outer circumferential face of the gas introduction port 12. The first protection member 3 is thereby attached detachably to the gas introduction port 12. An installation face 35 that is a lower end face of the first protection member 3 is positioned in a side lower than a lower end face of the gas introduction port 12. The second protection member is attached detachably to gas drawing-out port, although not shown in a figure.
