PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hinge mechanism having simple construction and a stable and smooth turning function. SOLUTION: The hinge mechanism comprises a columnar or cylindrical turning member 5 having at least one protruded strip 5b1 extending from the outer peripheral face in the axial direction, and a cylindrical spring member 8 rotatably fitted to the turning member 5 and having a slit 8c engageable with the protruded strip 5b1 and extending from the outer peripheral wall in the axial direction. The slide of the protruded strip 5b1 in pressure contact with the inner wall face of the cylindrical spring member 8 and the engagement/disengagement of the protruded strip 5b1 with/from the slit 8c restrict the rotation of the turning member 5 relative to the cylindrical spring member 8.
