PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for increasing productivity in a simple way to obtain improved combed sliver. SOLUTION: This apparatus for fiber-sorting or fiber-selection of a fiber bundle comprising supplied textile fibers has at least two rotatably mounted rollers (12; 13) equipped with clamping devices (18, 19, 20; 21, 22, 23) for the fiber bundle (16; 39<SB>1</SB>to 30<SB>3</SB>) on the downstream of supply means (8; 10, 11). The clamping devices are distributed spaced apart in the region of the roller periphery. Measured value sensor (29, 31, 32; 34, 34a, 34b; 41) for detecting mechanical related values and values relating to fibers of machine settings is connected to a control/regulation device (42) which can treat measured values and can transmit electric signals to elements (30; 43 to 47; 49) connected to effect at least one action in each case.
