PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form small diameter tumble flow and reverse tumble flow simultaneously right under the intake valve in a combustion chamber. SOLUTION: Mutually independent protrusion walls 8a, 8b symmetric with respect to a center axis N of the combustion chamber 1 are provided in a predetermined range of an inner wall of a cylinder head 2 adjacent to each intake valve 3 with keeping a predetermined gap with an outer circumference edge of an head part 3a of each intake valve 3. In an embodiment, the protrusion wall 8a has a side surface 8a<SB>1</SB>opposing to the outer circumference edge formed in an arc shape, and the predetermined gap is formed between the side surface 8a<SB>1</SB>and the outer circumference edge, a bisector of a chord line connecting both end points of the arc and a bisector of included angle K of the protrusion wall 8a are roughly consistent, and an upper surface 8a<SB>2</SB>of the protrusion wall 8a reaches near an overlap surface of the cylinder head 2 and the cylinder block 9, and length L in a Z axis direction of at least height length of one out of the end parts of the protrusion wall 8a is 0.1 times of a valve diameter D of the intake valve 3.
