PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of identifying a transparent object having specific optical properties, particularly a transparent object such as a measuring cuvette used in a light intensity detection system or testing the authenticity of the transparent object. SOLUTION: In the method of identifying the transparent object or testing the authenticity of the transparent object utilizing an absorption spectrum, the object to be identified is formed of material containing at least one, preferably at least two light absorbing substances (coloring agents).
