PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluid jet apparatus which can attain space-saving in the apparatus, and to provide a maintenance method of the fluid jet apparatus. SOLUTION: A cap member can scan the whole of a nozzle formation region, and at the same time the nozzle formation region can be sucked by the cap member. Therefore, even if the cap member is installed to cover not all over the whole surface of the nozzle formation region, the nozzle formation region can be sucked in its entirety, and the jetting characteristic of the whole of nozzle openings can be recovered.
