PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbazole-containing compound having high charge injection function and high thermal stability. SOLUTION: The compound is expressed by general formula (I) (in the formula, A is a substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbon group or a substituted or unsubstituted silicon-containing hydrocarbon group; R1to R14are each independently a hydrogen atom, a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group or a substituted or unsubstituted aralkyl group; Y1and Y2are each independently a group containing one or more elements selected from oxygen, sulfur, phosphorus, boron, silicon, germanium and tin, a group having a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic group linked to a group containing one or more elements selected from oxygen, sulfur, phosphorus, boron, silicon, germanium and tin, a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic group or a substituted or unsubstituted alkylene group; m and n are each 0 or 1; and the carbazole group bonded through Y1is linked to either one of R5, R6and R7, and the carbazole group bonded through Y2is linked to either one of R12, R13and R14).
