PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluorescent lamp capable of realizing an improvement in a luminous flux maintenance factor while maintaining a phosphor covering strength. SOLUTION: In the fluorescent lamp in which a protection membrane 5 is formed by coating an aqueous suspension in which a metal oxide is dispersed, this is the fluorescent lamp in which the following conditions are satisfied. (1) Thickness of the protection membrane 5 is 0.8 to 3μm, (2) an agglomerated particle ratio of 1,000 nm or more of the metal oxide (accumulation% of≥1,000 nm/accumulation% of less than 1,000 nm) is≤1.3.
