PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk recording and reproducing device which enables recording in the Video format even on a DVD+R optical disk. SOLUTION: When recording a first title, this device records VTSTT_VOBS real-time without leaving a space in the data area, and also records VTSI_BUP. If there is a second title to record, it records VTSTT_VOBS real-time in the data area for the second title, and also records VTSI_BUP. If there is no more title to record, it finishes title recording on the optical disk. Once finalizing takes place, it records the file system and VMGI in the reserved area and further records VTSIs as many as titles.
