PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a memory system capable of improving a data readout speed, and a data readout method therefor. SOLUTION: The data readout method for a memory system includes a buffer memory and a nonvolatile memory, wherein the readout method includes: a step of determining whether or not an input address is allocated to the buffer memory when a readout request is made; a step of determining whether or not the size of the requested data is larger than a reference value if the input address is not allocated to the buffer memory as the result of determining whether or not an input address is allocated to the buffer memory; and a step of performing a prefetch reading operation for the nonvolatile memory if the size of the requested data is larger than a reference value as the result of determining whether or not the size of the requested data is larger than the reference value.
