PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an article storage device for a vending machine that can suppress an increase in manufacturing cost while maintaining engagement between top guides and movable side plates. SOLUTION: The article storage device 20 for a vending machine includes an article storage passage 22 defined for vertical extension between a left/right pair of base side plates 21, the movable side plate 27 for adjusting the width of the article storage passage 22, an article guide passage 31 for guiding articles input from the front to an upper opening of the article storage passage 22, and the top guide 34 for adjusting the width of the article guide passage 31. An upper end of the movable side plate 27 is engaged with the top guide 34 by interposition between right and left spaced bifurcate locking projections 342a and 342b projecting back from a rear edge of the top guide 34, and is provided with a regulation projection 27a for regulating an upward movement of the top guide 34.
