PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of installing a floor member and a method of maintaining a floor member capable of easily replacing a carpet and a floor member according to a user's need. SOLUTION: Stone members are prevented from being rattled when stepped down by feet by using the stones 1-1, 1-2 having rubber sheets 2-1, 2-2 stuck on the rear surfaces, respectively, as floor members without using an adhesive agent. The floor surface between the outermost periphery of the paved stones and a building partition member such as a wall and a door is paved with a carpet material of the generally same thickness as the floor member formed of the stones which is cut with a cutter in a floor surface burying shape. Therefore, the operations and labor for cutting the stones can be eliminated. A joint 3 formed of a damping material such as a soft rubber is formed at the end part where the floor members of the stones abut on each other for preventing the stone members from being rubbed against each other and worn.
