PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mixer with highly wide applicability and capable of easily and flexibly usable even in the case of stirring and mixing various kinds of mixing materials. SOLUTION: Mixing shafts 6a and 6b are penetrating in side walls of a mixing tank 3 opposed to each other and journalled in freely rotating manner and mixing blades 8a and 8b are attached to the tip end parts of the respective mixing shafts 6a and 6b projected to the mixing tank 3. Further, driving motors 12a and 12b for rotary mixing shafts are independently installed for the respective mixing shafts 6a and 6b and a control apparatus 16 for independently controlling the rotation of the respective driving motors 12a and 12b is also installed. At the time of stirring and mixing materials to be mixed, a plurality of mixing patterns of combinations of normal rotation/reverse rotation of the respective driving motors 12a and 12b are registered in the control apparatus 16 and the optimum one mixing pattern is selected among a plurality of the mixing patterns.
