The electronic isolating switch (100) has an input terminal (101), an output terminal (102), and a semiconductor switch (110) that is connected with the output terminal. A monitoring and control switch (120) is provided, where the monitoring switch monitors the voltage of the input and output terminal of the semiconductor switch or monitors the current by the semiconductor switch. The control switch is provided to switch off the semiconductor switch. The monitored voltage or current drops under a given threshold value.
