[Also in Division F4] A plant for spray painting objects intermittently or continuously conveyed through the plant includes a drip separator in which cleaning liquid after mixing with ventilating air is separated together with accompanying paint particles by flow along thebottom of the separator which extends for the purpose at an inclination the whole length of the plant whence the liquid passes to a paint separation tank which extends in the opposite direction towards the other end of the plant for recirculation of the cleaned liquid, an endless conveyer dipping into the tank for removal of the paint particles. As shown, a closed channel I is supplied with ventilating air through apertures 4 and 5. The channel has a V-shaped bottom 6 terminating in an opening 7 for discharging ventilating air to a drip separator 8 from which the air is discharged by suction means. Cleaning liquid is supplied through pipes 10 to channels 11 and from there sweeps over the walls of the V- shaped bottom 6 in the form of a covering liquid film. The liquid is then conveyed along channels 13 towards one end 14 of the plant, where the channels 13 have an outlet 15 to a liquid cleaning tank 16 directly beneath the drip separator. The liquid in the tank flows back toward the other end of the tank where an endless conveyer 19 projects downwards into the tank to take up paint particles carried along by the liquid.</p> |
