A method of operating a DVD apparatus is disclosed, the DVD apparatus including an arrangement for reading information from a removable DVD disk and a communications port. The method includes the steps of supplying a removable DVD disk, the removable DVD disk including a secure container, the secure container comprising governed information and at least one rule governing at least one aspect of access to or use of said governed information, receiving through the communications port a second rule, and, at the DVD apparatus, using the first rule and the second rule to govern a use of at least a portion of said governed information.
