FIELD: technological processes. ^ SUBSTANCE: method for scotching of bast fibers includes double-sided scutching of strands squeesed in layer and their displacement along processing zone with simultaneous cyclic displacement of layer sections relative to line of squeesing due to contact with guides that have unstraight working edges. Guides may be displaced in horizontal plane under action of forces produced by transverse displacement of strands, and to restore their initial position due to application of elastic joints, coefficient of stiffness is different along length of processing zone. ^ EFFECT: reduced content of boon in sections of processed strands located near their squeesing without reduction in yield of long fiber. ^ 2 dwg
